I never knew I would become a musician. After getting a BA in Anthropology & Community Development and Applied Economics at The University of Vermont in 2007, I moved to Boston where I began to pursue music full-time. After an amazing but tumultuous few years I joined forces with Della Mae in 2011, throwing myself into a genre of music I knew almost nothing about. Over time, I learned how to explain my art by teaching at camps such as Rockygrass, Targee, Miles of Music, Ossippee String Camp, and the California Bluegrass Association. I never thought I would teach online....until Covid. During those few years (an incredibly stressful but transformative time) I honed my skills online and began to understand what it means to be a teacher. If you are interested in any of my offerings and live in the Seacoast area of Maine/New Hampshire I would be happy to do in person lessons, but don't be wary of online lessons, they are incredibly effective- I've seen so myself!
